Key Challenges Facing Employers in the New Decade

As we enter a new decade, employers are confronted with new challenges. Employers struggle with sometimes conflicting privacy laws in the U.S. and abroad in dealing with social media and electronic data. In this age of technology, protecting employer secrets and dealing with unfair competition may create unexpected legal risks of their own in the global marketplace. Employee litigation on a broader scale involving systemic issues also continues to plague employers, whether it involves potential pay discrimination claims, actions by emboldened Federal agencies such as the EEOC and OFCCP, wage and hour collective actions or even proper classification of workers, particularly for those designated as independent contractors.

This year’s Conference will focus on these and other major challenges for employers, many of which have global implications in managing a multinational workforce. The presentations, panels, workshops and discussion groups have been designed to bring together experienced inside and outside counsel who can offer their most strategic insights and best practices to deal with the new workplace.
